On Saturday May 16th, 2015, in celebration of its 5th anniversary, The KinkyApothecary will launch the Nigerian Natural Hair & Beauty Show at The Federal Palace Hotel, a culmination of all their workshops and events over the previous years.In an environment where weaves and relaxers are celebrated, The Kinky Apothecary’s mission has been to change ideals of beauty in Nigeria and beyond by offering resources, products, inspiration and support to women who have taken a step in going against the mould.
:: Hear Word! :: Saturday May 16th 2015 ::
The stage play Hear Word! has found it’s home at the Musin center. The theatre production is based on real life experiences of Nigerian women with social commentary. The hilarious yet seriously real play is reminiscent of the Vagina Monologues. The amazing cast will have you in stitches but leave you pondering a few important questions too. Hear Word will be on every Friday and Saturday at the Muson Center.
:: The Lagos Walkabout :: Sunday May 17th 2015 ::
This Sunday May 17th, 2015, join The Legacy Group on a guided walk of Lagos Island. by far the best part of Lagos. The tour kicks off from Freedom Park at 7.30am. Strictly for early risers and the 6am church family.
:: STRIP :: Sunday May 17th 2015 ::
STRIP is the latest art exhibition to hit Lagos. The exhibition will be held at the new Re.Le Art Gallery at 5 Millitary Street, Onikan, Lagos. The exhibition is centered around the most vibrant collection of artists from photographic icon, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, to promising young artist, Toyosi Kekere-Ekun. Also, the exhibition explores a very intriguing subject: the human anatomy, with artists capturing varying shades of nudity. It promises to be really good.
