The BET awards this year were fantastic! They took it back to old school formula with great performances by legends and new school artists alike. Where they hit the nail on the head though, was with their hosts. Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross (Co-Stars of ABC’s Black-ish) are a dynamic duo.
Now everyone knows we LOVE some Tracee Ellis Ross. She represents for all the mixed girls every where! If only we could get our hair so big, butt so tight, legs so long and smile so big! Here are some of the outfits she rocked while hosting the awards show. She didn’t wear too many major labels. A few of the dresses she designed herself and worked along side stylists.
Some we loved, some we’d tweak and some we just don’t get…
She walked the red carpet in All white. She designed her dress alongside her stylist James Knox (@jamesknox), jewelry by Lisa Eisner (@lisaeisnerjewelry / http://www.lisaeisnerjewelry.com) and white Christian Louboutins. All her outfits were accompanied by Christian Louboutins.
While this wasn’t a notable outfit, the moment was funny… and her body is banging. lol. Even at 42.
TMurda came out to play. She’s a trap Queen! Gotta love her. We aren’t sure where the romper is from but we’re feeling the girl scout vibe. lol. And it’s in our favorite, Army Green!
This was EVERYTHING! This silver jumpsuit was made by Jan Taminiau (@jantaminiau / http://www.jantaminiau.com) and she styled it with pastel pink Louboutins. I would have gone for a more delicate strappy shoe, even in the same color or maybe even a summer mule.
So who wore it better? Tracee or Kim K? Of course our answer is Tracee but what do you think? She wore this pink Atsuko Kudo Latex (@atsukokudolatex / http://www.atsukokudo.com) dress with nude Louboutins. She admitted to Terrence J on the red carpet that she was going commando in her white dress so you know for sure everything was breezy in this one!
This number is another Tracee Ellis Ross original with the help of her stylist James Knox. She says on her instagram page that the single string down the back was her inspiration behind the rest of the dress. We loved this. It was elegant but sexy. Fitting for her age but still youthful at the same time.
Then there was this. We don’t even know where to start. We’re not sure if we’re more offended that they would put our girl Tracee in this get up or if they are trying to play our homie Cookie off as cheap. Either way we’re not with it. We are not holding it against them cause it was funny and we loved everything else!
