The Colored Girl x Nubian Skin Full Bloom Campaign

The Colored Girl is an agency dedicated to disrupting the status quo through fashion and beauty. What does this really mean? The Colored Girl essentially creates the campaigns and finds the beautiful chocolate skin models you have been seeing pop up in more and more common place adverts now. To celebrate their first year anniversary, founders Victory Jones & Tori Elizabeth collaborated with 13 gorgeous melanin Queens for their “Full Bloom Campaign” which is meant to embrace black women of all shades, sizes and all their similarities and differences.

Get ready for a whole lot of chocolate deliciousness on your screen!

“The colors represent the joy and gratitude we feel, and that many Black women feel; but that is almost never seen commercially.”

Damn. Capsule Collection by Kendrick Lamar

It looks like kendrick Lamar is not staying so “humble” with his capsule collection named after his upcoming album, “Damn.” For now it looks like the line is going to be very basic, almost like concert memorabilia, which makes sense. He will be selling his merch at pop ups all around the US & Canada starting in Texas at the Black Market, last Friday. Other cities include NYC, Philly, DC, Toronto, Chicago, LA, Miami & Las Vegas, until September 2nd. Some of the items are already for sale on line and the rest of the collection will be unveiled as the pop up tour continues. So far the price points are around $30 – $60 which seems reasonable.

The Supreme x Louis Vuitton Capsule Collection

I can honestly say that I am surprised I have not seen half of this collection in Lagos already! 2 weeks is more than enough time for our fashionable Lagosians but perhaps everyone isn’t back with their summer loot yet. While the Supreme x Louis collection seems to be all the range in the mens world, it also slips in quite comfortably to a woman’s wardrobe. I would definitely rock the backpack, travel trunk & denim jacket. I’m not a huge fan of the Louis Vuitton Monogram on everything, maybe just luggage, so I’m not fond of the driving gloves and bedroom accessories. These leather slides though, are everything. If you’re a forward planner and you want to get a good gift, now’s the time to buy for birthdays, Christmas etc before it’s all gone!

OFF White Spring 2018

OFF White is one of those brands that could potentially be forgotten. They are best known from stars like Janelle Monae, Issa Rae, Nicole Kidman & Bella Hadid. They always keep it simple with a little added falir which is what I love about them. They create “basics” that aren’t basic. I am also extremely in love with the amount of sheer lace incorporated into this collection. It’s everything and more for those of us who want to show it, without really showing it!

Tom Ford Spring 2018

What is there to say? Mr. Ford is King. We bow down! He never fails to remind us, men CAN wear pink, and it looks fantastic.

The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards

The BET Awards were anything short of eventful this year. Between BET helping us set it straight who the Best Female Rapper is (Remy Ma, of course) to Migos getting into multiple scraps, there was plenty of entertainment between handing out awards. As always, the BET Awards comes along with the good, the bad and the ugly – here are some looks from the BET Silver Carpet.
