If it’s not too cliche to say, We were living our best lives this summer! Our brother got married in Vouligameni, a beautiful town in the Athens Riviera.
It was an exciting trip from to start to finish; here’s the low down:
We left London at the crack of dawn on Friday August 31st – the whole family in tow! As always, when we all get together there’s a little mayhem, a little laughter, a few tears but a guaranteed good time.
Our first night we had casual evening drinks at the Margi Hotel. By far one of my fave boutique hotels in the world! The pool bar & restaurant is amazing. We had almost everything on the menu including one of the best Greek Salads ever! (Needless to say, we ate a whole lot of Greek salads on this trip, lol).
Saturday morning was all about soaking in our first dose of sun, sun, sun! We stayed in 2 Villas – one in Lagonissi & the other in Glyfada. Both areas were really nice but completely opposite. Lagonisi is exactly what I expected from Greece – lots of beautiful villas, the villa was right next door to the Bali Beach Club, gorgeous views and tons of semi clad locals & holidayers strolling around. Glyfada on the other hand was far more city like & metropolitan with tons of cafes, designer shops, restaurants & parks.
Saturday evening was the welcome dinner & introduction to Greek culture at Labros restaurant in Vouligameni. An all blue affair, we sampled local Greek cuisine (mousaka) & drinks (Ouzo) till we were stuffed! It wouldn’t have been a real Greek experience without the smashing of plates and a little traditional Greek dancing. Opa!
Sunday was by far our favorite day of the wedding celebrations. The entire wedding group had a sun kissed day out at the Varkiza Beach Resort in Varkiza. Lots of food, lots of dancing, swimming, Water sports and an endless champagne bar. My type of party 🏽
Monday was D day!!!
The ceremony was held outdoors over looking the Riviera at the Ble Azure in Glyfada.
The reception continued at the Island Residence decked out like a midsummer night’s dream.
With fresh seafood, music by dj Tom Obinna/Ryan Shepard and the champagne flowing it was epic !
We partied ’til the sun came up ️

On Tuesday we relaxed at “home,” Caught some rays and had lunch prepared by a private chef from White Key Villas. He did a great job at making sure we were ALWAYS full and we got to try a variety of Greek traditional foods.
Wednesday we ventured out to Astir beach club for more fun in the sun and to check out some local ruins. The sushi was exceptional but the surprise star on the menu was the fried baby fish. Yum!
Well what’s a Riviera holiday without exploring the high seas?! And so we did. We set off early on Thursday morning and sailed from Athens to Limenaria and beyond. We had lunch on a cute little island with virtually nothing but a house and a restaurant shack on it. Despite there only being 5 options on the menu (and yes, we ordered them all), the food was brilliant.
While we wish we could have stayed forever, on Friday we headed back to London. We had so much fun we even forgot one suitcase at the airport! 😂🤦🏽♀️😂
Amazing vacation done.
Veni, Vidi, Vici.
